NASA Apollo 11 Buzz Aldrin Control Stick
On July 20, 1969, astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin landed on the moon in front of 600 million live television viewers. Following the completion of the mission, NASA presented the astronauts with controllers retrieved from the spacecraft, but they reportedly declined the gift. #NASA1 is the original space-flown secondary rotational attitude control stick used by Buzz Aldrin to pilot the Command Module, “Columbia,” during the Apollo 11 mission. Mounted on a custom display with an Apollo 11 mission patch, #NASA1 also comes with its original parts removal tag dated September 22, 1969.
