OWN KARUIZAWA'S INAUGURAL 2023 WHISKY CASKS

Built in 1956 at the foothills of Mount Asama, Karuizawa Distillery became one of Japan’s most revered whisky producers, known for its sherried single malts and small-scale production. After being mothballed in 2000 and officially closed in 2011, Karuizawa whisky became one of the most collectible spirits in the world, with bottles commanding record prices due to extreme scarcity. In 2023, Karuizawa Distillery started production of the first full-scale whisky-making in over 20 years. Under the leadership of Master Distiller Yoshiyuki Nakazato, the distillery painstakingly recreated its original stills and production methods, ensuring a seamless continuation of its legendary whisky-making tradition. That year, only 250 casks were filled, with just 80 total sold. We are offering three of these 2023 casks, among the final ones available from this inaugural production. Distilled using the same meticulous approach that made Karuizawa a global icon, these casks are maturing in sherry-seasoned barrels under strict supervision at the distillery. Stored on-site, they will not be bottled before reaching at least 10 years of age, ensuring optimal maturation and flavor development. With Japanese whisky continuing to dominate the global collectible spirits market, these 2023 Karuizawa casks represent an exceptionally rare opportunity to secure whisky from Karuizawa’s rebirth.
