After Jordan’s rookie season, he left for a European tour with Nike to showcase the Air Jordan brand. During an exhibition game in Trieste, Italy, Jordan drove to the bucket, leaping from the top of the key and slamming home a dunk so powerful he shattered the backboard, covering his opponents in glass. #85JORDAN2 is the custom Stefanel Trieste orange and black jersey worn by Jordan during the game, signed and dated August, 1985. In 2015, Nike released the Air Jordan 1’s in an orange and black “Shattered Backboard” colorway to commemorate this classic moment from the start of Jordan’s career.
