Hoping to find an exciting new product to set their brand apart, Topps introduced three-player panel cards to their 1980 Basketball base set. Collectors weren’t impressed, and the set may have remained largely forgotten if it wasn’t for the Topps Scoring Leader Card #6, which combined Larry Bird and Magic Johnson — producing both of their key Rookie Cards in one. With Dr. J appearing in the middle, the three Hall of Famers' trio card became the set’s “crown jewel.” #TOPPSTRIO is a 1980 Topps Scoring Leader Card #6 graded PSA 9. According to PSA, the card is "notorious" for print defects, making it difficult to find in high grade.
