But before Ryan became the most feared pitcher in baseball, Topps did not even grant him his own Rookie Card, instead “double printing” the 1968 Topps #177 card with Mets rookies Nolan Ryan and Jerry Koosman. #68RYAN is a 1968 Topps #177 Nolan Ryan Rookie Card Graded PSA MINT 9. With only one example graded higher, the 1968 Ryan/Koosman card is known as Ryan’s true Rookie Card.
